The Role

As a Procurement Specialist focused on Long Lead Items, you’ll manage complex procurement packages for major offshore projects—most notably the redeployment of a high-profile FPSO unit. You’ll take full responsibility for the purchasing process, from requests and tenders through to contract negotiation, delivery, and final close-out. This is a senior-level, hands-on position: you’ll chair meetings, resolve disputes, and ensure the project gets what it needs, when it needs it—no excuses.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute procurement tasks for multidisciplinary EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects, especially FPSO conversions

  • Manage PR, RFQ, tender evaluations, approvals, and purchase orders for critical goods and services

  • Lead supplier qualification and bid clarification meetings

  • Negotiate price, schedule, and contract terms to ensure best value

  • Report progress and issues to internal stakeholders (engineering, planning, cost control, etc.)

  • Assess and manage commercial and schedule impacts of post-award changes and variations

  • Review and approve supplier invoices and handle disputes

  • Oversee performance measurement and contract close-out activities

What You Need to Bring

  • Senior-level experience in procurement for large, multidisciplinary EPC Oil & Gas projects

  • Proven track record with FPSO conversion or similar offshore projects is highly preferred

  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness

  • Excellent command of English (spoken & written); Dutch is an advantage

  • Practical knowledge of supplier qualification, tendering, contract law, and procurement software

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, international environment

  • Resilience, problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic, hands-on attitude
