Project Engineer Cable Installation

What will you be in charge off?
As Project Engineer you will be responsible for all technical preparations for cable installation projects for new windfarms as well as for cable repair projects for existing wind farms. You will play an important role in our multidisciplinary project teams and you are the link between theory and practical execution. You are responsible for all technical preparations and you provide solutions for technical issues. This position is based in Rotterdam and occasional travelling to vessels and/yards may be necessary.
Your main duties in this position:
- Assist and advise all stakeholders for the project with your knowledge of preparation of cable installation projects such as methodology, documentation, schedules, and equipment lists.
- Provide technical and creative solutions for queries and problems.
- Guide internal and external engineering specialist who perform detailed calculations.
- Stay informed about new technical developments related to cable installation, trenching and burial methods, new equipment and assist in innovation projects for new technology.
- Attend client meetings and review relevant documentation.
- Attend vessel mobilisations and de-mobilisations.
- Liaise with offshore teams, organize project briefings and meetings.
- Ensure highest quality and professionalism during all phases.
- Coach Junior Project Engineers.
Requirements
• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Mechanical, Offshore Engineering.
• Proven work experience in cable installation projects of at least 5 years.
• Good analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and language skills in English (written and spoken).
• Willing to travel.
• Hands-on approach, team player and a professional attitude offshore projects.
• Active promotor of Health, Safety and quality.
